J Brindon Addy has been on our 'must visit' list for a good while now, so it was super exciting when we took a trip over to the shop last month. J Brindon Addy is a traditional butchers & graziers in Holmfirth, run by national chairman of the Q Guild Butchers, Brindon Addy. Their aim as a butchers is simple, 'to buy the very best local meat possible - to keep it, butcher it and mature it above or beyond the best standards', and it's easy to see this as soon as you step through the door. The shop itself is out in the middle of the country, with not much around at all, but yet while we visited it was brimming with customers, who come out of the way to buy the best quality around.
The store is decked with quality fixtures and decorations, including their many awards displayed proudly just inside the door, to stuffed game hanging from the ceiling. The store was spotless, and it's easy to see from the photo that the meat they supply is top notch, plus it's all locally produced, and the staff would be happy to tell you exactly which farm it's come from. It was also nice to see the Great British Butcher range sat on the top of the counter, which apparently has been and still is a real hit with the customers.
