The whole estate is well designed and decorated, with plenty of quirky handwritten signs which you can have a little chuckle to yourself over. All of the staff are extremely friendly, and always happy to offer a hand if you need a little help or advice. We caught up with the head of butchery, Steve James, who was happy to chat to us about what they've been up to recently, such as exhibiting at the Meat Up event in the last couple of months, along with sharing his thoughts on GBB. Steve told us that his personal favourite from the range is the Bloody Mary Rub, which he thinks tastes amazing BBQ'd on a nice piece of steak, which really brings out the tomato and lemony flavours.
If you're ever in the area (or not, it's worth a drive over to), then you should definitely pop into Hawarden Farm Shop, you won't regret it! We'll be bringing you more 'must visit' butchers and farm shops soon. Do you have a local farm shop/butchers that you think we need to share with everyone? Let us know on facebook or twitter, and we'll try to feature them soon.
